Gary Ward is a results-driven private equity investor, deal originator and Non-Executive Director with over 30 years of experience originating and closing complex mid-market transactions. He is a specialist in brokering off-market opportunities, drawing on an extensive personal network of high-net-worth investors, funds and consortium contacts to connect capital with high-potential businesses.
Gary works across all sectors, from start-ups to multi-million-pound enterprises, both in the UK and internationally. A PwC-trained private equity specialist, Gary has held origination and investment roles across a series of respected UK private equity houses, including Gresham Private Equity, where he spent over a decade as Partner, and LDC (Lloyds Development Capital), where he served as Director of Business Development originating mid-market investments from a £3 billion fund. He began his private equity career as Head of Origination at PwC, and today runs Gary Ward Private Equity, making direct investments and creating connections in support of private clients and entrepreneurs.
Beyond his transactional work, Gary is a committed mentor and judge, serving as a Volunteer Mentor with the Prince’s Trust for over two decades and as a Judge for the Great British Entrepreneur Awards. He began his career as a Royal Marine Commando, an experience that continues to inform his discipline, resilience and leadership.
